I'm really excited to be one of the new Design Team for More Mixed Media Challenge Blog! It was launched on 5 January and our theme for this month is - Blue - apt really as it's how a lot of us feel in the colder months of the year after the excitement of Christmas. However, crafting is a good distraction from the awful weather and the cold, wet, dark evenings. I love doing something new and although I have done one lot of ATCs before, this set was my very first 'proper' set, and I really enjoyed making them. The theme for the swap I did was Oriental or Egyptian - having no Egyptian bits, I went for Oriental, and really happy with how they turned out.
I used a variety of media for these - the first one is stamped and heat embossed around the edge and then a piece of Tim Holtz paper was used as background and I stamped an oriental lady on top and coloured her with my Promarkers. I added some flowers to embellish.
The second one, which is the submission for the January Blue challenge blog DT, is again, Tim Holtz papers for the background and a Lily of the Valley (LOTV) stamp coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut out and stuck to the background. I added some embellishments - a metal fan and some bling, for impact. The third uses the off cuts of the lovely Tim Holtz papers top and bottom and some pretty ribbon and a metal embellishment. I used multiple stamps for the image, layered and masked out and then coloured with Promarkers. A few little bling gems added for impact.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest make and really looking forward to sharing my other makes with you. Do feel free to comment on any of my posts - I really value your input and love hearing from fellow crafters!
